Carbon avoidance, engineered at the source
Methane emissions are invisible. Their impact is not. One oil & gas well feeds a connected operating system — tanks, vessels, pipelines, and flaring — across a single Permian Basin pad.
Orphaned well emissions
Tanks, vessels, pipelines, and flaring may all be part of the same oil & gas operating system. Repairing each methane emission point does not remove the source. Production ends and the equipment is left behind — but the wellbore stays open to the formation.
Orphaned well plugging
Permanent well plugging removes the upstream source feeding the downstream infrastructure.
Measurement to issuance
Six auditable layers — methane measurement and verification, issuance controls, retirement, settlement, project standards, and integrity instruments — govern every step. No CAT is minted until the 29-Gate Mint Checklist clears.
The Carbon Avoidance Token
The protocol states that retirement is a Token-2022 native burn on Solana: an irreversible on-chain record, documented by a non-transferable certificate.
Each carbon credit is worth 1 tCO₂e.
